1 You cannot use Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows RT. If you plan to use a server that runs Windows Small Business Server (SBS), we recommend that you do not use the Microsoft web sites that come preloaded with that operating system.
2 You can use SQL Server Express 2008 R2 if you have three locations or less. However, there are a number of limitations for Central Office when you use SQL Server Express 2008 R2:
(i) The maximum database size is 10 GB.
(ii) You must back up the database manually because the Automated Backup utility is not included.
(iii) You cannot use the Global Memberships feature to transfer membership privileges between locations.
(iv) The Central Office Software Development Kit (SDK) does not operate at an optimum level.
3 You should consider purchasing additional memory to support the Windows operating system and any other installed applications.
4 Internet access is required to download Central Office updates if you sign up for a Millennium Support & Maintenance Agreement.
