1.4 - Set Up Port Forwarding

The next step is to set up port forwarding on your router so that you can access RemoteBusiness from a remote location.

Note:  You need to refer to the documentation provided with your router to complete this step.

  1. Find out the port used by the Web site where you installed RemoteBusiness.

a.    If using Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 10, or Windows 8.1: Access the Start screen. Type inetmgr and press Enter.

b.    If using Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7:  Press Windows Logo key + R or select Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run. In the run window, type inetmgr and press Enter.

c.     On the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager screen, locate the Connections panel on the left. Double-click on your server connection and click Sites.

d.    On the Sites main panel, locate the Web site where you installed RemoteBusiness and note the port number in the Binding field.

  1. Forward the port identified in step 1 above to the static internal IP address of the computer where you installed RemoteBusiness (for example, 192.168.1.1).

  1. If you purchased a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate, contact Business Support for installation guidance.
