8. Move the Central Office Database

The next step is to move the Central Office database from the old computer in preparation for transfer to the new computer.


  1. Access Windows with an administrator account on the old computer.

  2. Select Start > All Programs > Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 > SQL Server Management Studio.

The Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio displays.

  1. Select Connect > Database Engine.

The Connect to Server window displays.

  1. Complete the following:
  1. In the Authentication field, select "SQL Server Authentication".

  2. In the Login and Password fields, type the credentials for the SQL Server system administrator account.

  1. Click Connect.
  2. Double-click Databases.

  1. Right-click on MillenniumCO and select Tasks > Back Up.

The Backup Database - MillenniumCO window displays.

  1. Complete the following:
  1. Select "Full" in the Backup type field.

  2. Note the location that displays in the Destination section.

  1. Click OK.

A notification displays once SQL Server creates a backup of the database.

  1. Click OK.
  2. Browse to the location you noted in Step 8b.
  3. Copy the backup of the database to a location on the network accessible from the new computer.
  4. Click here to proceed with the next step of the setup.

 

9. Upload the Central Office Database
