Viewing the Alert Log

1. Complete one of the following:

• Select Alert Log > Alert Log.

• Double-click the New Alert Triggered message on the Status bar.

The Alert Log displays.  To read an explanation about an alert, select the alert and review to the information in the Alert Details field.

2. Complete the following as necessary:

• Create a task for an alert

  You can create a task for an alert if you want to mark the alert for follow up.  This helps you to remember that action is still required to investigate the reason behind the alert.

  1. Select the X check box next to the alert.

  2. Click Copy Selected Alert to Task.

  3. Click Yes.

  The Task List window displays.

  4. Select Schedule Reminders.

  5. Complete the following:

  • Start = Enter the date when you want to start receiving reminders about the task.

  • @ = Enter the time when you want to start receiving reminders about the task.

  • Remind Every _ hours = Specify the hourly interval that you want to receive reminders about the task.

  6. Complete the following as necessary:

  • Icons = Select an icon to represent the task and help classify the type of action required.

  • Assign To = Select the employee that you want to follow up on the alert.

  7. Click Save.

   

• Review the transaction that triggered the alert

  Appointment-related alerts

  1. Select the X check box next to the alert.

  2. Click Go to Appointment.

  3. Click Yes.

  The Appointment Editor displays with details for the appointment.

  4. Review the appointment as necessary.

  5. Click Cancel.

  Transaction-related alerts

  1. Select the X check box next to the alert.

  2. Click Go to Transaction.

  The Register displays with details for the items rung up.

  3. Review the transaction as necessary.

  4. Click Cancel.

  5. Click Yes.

   

• Delete selected alerts

  1. Complete one of the following:

  • Delete specific alerts = Select the X check box next to the alerts you want to delete.

  • Delete all alerts = Click Select All.

  2. Click Delete Selected Alerts.

  3. Click Yes.

   

3. Click the Alerts by Date tab.

A list of alerts sorted by date displays.  Click a date in the Date list to view the alerts that occurred on that date on the right side of the tab.  To read an explanation about an alert, select the alert and review to the information in the Alert Details field.

4. Complete the following as necessary:

  5. Click Cancel.

  1. Select the X check box next to the alert.

  2. Click Go to Transaction.

  The Register displays with details for the items rung up.

  3. Review the transaction as necessary.

  4. Click Cancel.

  5. Click Yes.

   

• Delete selected alerts

  1. Complete one of the following:

  • Delete specific alerts = Select the X check box next to the alerts you want to delete.

  • Delete all alerts = Click Select All.

  2. Click Delete Selected Alerts.

  3. Click Yes.

   

5. Click the Alerts by Category tab.

A list of alerts sorted by category displays.  Click a category in the Alert Categories list to view the alerts from that category.  To read an explanation about an alert, select the alert and review to the information in the Alert Details field.
