Looking Up Gift Certificate Details

Method 1

Use this method if you only need to look up the balance remaining, prepaid tip remaining, and/or expiration date for a gift certificate.

• Instructions

  1. Click on the toolbar.

  The Appointments for window displays.

  2. Click .

  The Quick Search window displays.

  3. Click in the Gift Certificate # field and complete one of the following:

  • If you use bar-coded gift cards, swipe the card through the card reader.

  • If you do not use bar-coded gift cards, type the gift certificate number and press Enter.

  A notification displays with details for the gift certificate.

  4. Click OK.

   

Method 2

Use this method if you want to view usage history, change the expiration date, or transfer the gift certificate for use by another client.

• Instructions

  1. Click on the toolbar.

  The Appointments for window displays.

  2. In the Client field, type the client's name in "lastname,firstname" format and press Enter, or double-click in the field and locate the client's profile using the Quick Search window.

  The client's details display.

  3. Click .

  Details for unused gift certificates display.

  Tip:  Select Show All to view details for used and expired gift certificates.

  4. Complete the following as necessary:

  • View redemption details for a gift certificate

    1. Select Show All.

    2. Select the gift certificate.

    3. Click Usage History.

     

  • Change the expiration date for a gift certificate

    1. Select the gift certificate.

    2. Click Expiration/Purch For.

    The Edit Expiration or Purchased For window displays.

    3. In the Expiration Date field, enter a new expiration date.

    4. Click Ok.

     

  • Transfer a gift certificate to another client

    1. Select the gift certificate.

    2. Click Expiration/Purch For.

    The Edit Expiration or Purchased For window displays.

    3. In the Purchased For field, type the client's name in "lastname,firstname" format and press Enter, or double-click in the field and locate the client's profile using the Quick Search window.

    4. Click Ok.
