Defining a Membership Enrollment Fee Service

If you charge membership enrollment fees and allow clients to receive refunds of these fees, you need to define an enrollment fee service on the Service Definitions window.  You can then process refunds for the enrollment fee service to give clients their money back.


  1. Select Data > Services > Service Definitions.

The Service Definitions window displays.

  1. Click New.
  2. Complete the following:
  1. Type "MEMFEEREF" in the Service Code field.

  2. Type "Membership Enrollment Fee Refund" in the Description field.

  3. Type the enrollment fee amount in the Price Level 1 field.

  4. Deselect Used in Average Ticket Calculations.

  5. Select Non-Taxable.

  1. Click the Deductions/Commissions tab.
  2. Complete the following:
  1. Select Override Standard Service Commission.

  2. Type "$0.00" as the commission override.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Click Yes.
  3. Click No.

The Employee Selection window displays.

  1. Click Move All >>.
  2. Click Ok.

Tip:  If you charge different enrollment fees for each membership, repeat Steps 2-5 to define additional services as necessary.
