Deactivating a Membership

If you are going to stop selling a membership or only want to sell a membership at specific times of year, you should deactivate the membership.  This allows you to keep the sales history for the membership and gives you the flexibility to reactivate the membership in the future.

Important:  When you deactivate a membership, employees cannot ring up the membership.  However, clients can still use memberships purchased before the deactivation.


  1. Select Data > Memberships > Membership Definitions.

The Membership Definitions window displays.

  1. Click the Listing tab.
  2. Select the membership and click the Maintenance tab.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. Select Inactive.
  5. Click Save.
