3. Configure the Interface Software

The next step is to configure the interface software.

Note:  You need to know the correct communication settings to use for connections to Maestro before starting this configuration.  Contact NORTHWIND for more information on the correct settings to use.

1. Complete one of the following:

• Double-click the Millennium PMS Micros Interface shortcut on the Windows desktop.

• On the Start screen, type "desktop", press Enter, and double-click the Millennium PMS Micros Interface shortcut.

The Interface Not setup message displays.

2. Click OK.

The Millennium PMS Interface (Micros Emulator) window displays.

3. Click Connection Settings.

The following fields display.

4. Complete the following:

1. In the Serial Port field, select the serial port used for the connection to the Maestro computer.

2. Enter communication settings in the remaining fields using the guidelines provided by NORTHWIND.

5. Click Ok.

The interface software attempts to connect to the Maestro computer.  When the connection is successful, the Connection Status changes to "Connected".

Important:  If you are unable to connect to the Maestro computer successfully, contact Business Support for further assistance.

6. Close the Millennium PMS Interface window.
7. Click here to proceed with the next step of the setup.
